They say that fitness is 90% mental and 10% physical and that if you’re mentally tough you can succeed.
Mentally tough? Hmmm…
I’m not sure if you need to be mentally tough, but I do agree that to perform well, your thoughts about yourself and what you’re doing need to be focused on your desired result.
I’m also not convinced that being mentally tough means that you have to somehow push through the pain. Have you been ever so fit that when you’re exercising you can feel the burn in your muscles and the heat in your lungs, but instead of focusing on the pain, you feel the emotion of joy and exhilaration?
The Power of Positive Emotions
Greg Braden says that we create positive emotions in our body when a thought and a feeling come together in a coherent way. A feeling in our heart is created and this feeling is the way we can communicate with the universe and make our desires happen.
This is the key.
So use the tools of your mind and create the thoughts and feelings that bring forth a positive emotion in your heart. When you do this, you can achieve your heart’s desire.
How? You might ask. I use afformations – not it’s not a mis-spelling! Afformations were invented by Noah St. John.
They are a way of bringing your desires into the present tense and raise your vibration to match that of what you truly want in your heart. I describe how afformations work in my post Afformations for sexiness – Why am I so sexy?
Afformations for Fitness
So here are some afformations to improve your fitness.
Why am I fit and strong?
Why am I at my peak physical fitness?
Why do I love my body?
Why does my body work exactly the way I want?
Why do I exercise efficiently and with ease?
Why do I enjoy the rhythm of my body and my breath when I exercise?
Why do I love exercise?
Why does exercise make me feel joy in my heart?
Why do I have abundant energy?
Why do I have limitless endurance?
Why can I go further and do more every time I exercise?
What are the infinite possibilities for increasing my fitness? Now?
What are the infinite ways in which I can become fitter and stronger?
How can it get better than this?
What else is possible?
Of course, you do feel pain in your body at times. But it’s sensible to gradually build your strength and practice being efficient with exercise. I believe that focusing on efficiency, rhythm and breath will build your fitness in the most painless way possible.
So try these afformations on a daily basis for as long as you need. And let me know how you go by leaving a comment below.
